  • GUIDELINES TO USE THE INCREMENTAL COMMITMENT SPIRAL MODEL FOR DEVELOPING QUANTUM-CLASSICAL SYSTEMS

    29th February 2024

Our colleagues Ricardo Pérez, Manuel Serrano, José Antonio Cruz-Lemus, and Mario Piattini have published the article GUIDELINES TO USE THE INCREMENTAL COMMITMENT SPIRAL MODEL FOR DEVELOPING QUANTUM-CLASSICAL SYSTEMS in the Quantum Information & Computation.

As the authors point out, just like other milestones in the history of software development, such as the adoption of object-oriented systems where new software development processes and life cycles emerged, the quantum computing revolution necessitates a new life cycle for hybrid and quantum software systems.

Although there are some proposed life cycles for quantum software systems, most of them do not comprehensively address the specific needs of these systems. In this article, a quantum life cycle proposal adapted from the Incremental Commitment Spiral Model (ICSM) is presented, along with an example of its use.
