    24th June 2024

Manuel Serrano presented his work at the Conference on University Teaching of Computer Science (JENUI 2024), an event held within the framework of the VII Spanish Congress of Computer Science (CEDI 2024), which takes place from June 17 to 21, 2024, in A Coruña.

The work, titled “Use of ChatGPT in University Computer Science Education: Advantages and Disadvantages,” is the result of collaboration between Manuel Serrano and other members of the GSyA research group. The authors of the study are Manuel A. Serrano, Antonio Santos Olmo Parra, David G. Rosado, Luis Enrique Sánchez Crespo, Carlos Blanco Bueno, and Eduardo Fernández Medina.

This study reflects on how the emergence of Generative Artificial Intelligence has transformed university-level computer science teaching. It analyzes the possible reactions of educators to this new technology and examines the advantages and disadvantages of using ChatGPT by teachers, students, and academic institutions. Additionally, the study suggests the best options for incorporating Generative AI into curricula and teaching activities, providing a guide for effectively integrating this technology into the educational field.
