  • QHealth: “Quantum pharmacogenomics applied to ageing” in EQTC 2021

    02th December 2021

Our colleague Mario Piattini together with Guido Peterssen and José Luis Hevia from aQuantum presents the project QHealth: "Quantum pharmacogenomics applied to ageing" at the 2nd European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC), which takes place virtually from 29 November to 2 December 2021, organised by the Irish Centre for High-End Computing and the National University of Ireland, Galway.

The European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC), is the international conference of the European Quantum Flagship initiative.

The QSalud project is part of the MISSIONS programme of the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation; and is coordinated by aQuantum and involves the companies Gloin and Madrija, as well as researchers from the University Institute for Biosanitary Research of Extremadura (INUBE), the University of Extremadura (UNEX) and the Alarcos Group of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM).

The overall objective of the QSalud project is, above all, human: to increase the longevity and quality of life of the elderly, something to which it will contribute thanks to the research it carries out into the relationships between genetic determinants and other variables in the health trajectory of the elderly throughout their lives, including the reaction that drugs can trigger in the elderly, in such a way that the possible adverse effects that a particular drug can have on the health of an elderly person can be predicted based on their history of taking drugs, the effects of the same and their physiological and genetic determinants.
