  • Quantum computing: a leap as big as that between the abacus and today's computer science

    07th April 2021

Our colleague Mario Piattini has published in the Chronicles of the Intangible an article entitled: "Quantum computing: a leap as big as the one between the abacus and today's computer science".

    Summary

This article highlights the power of quantum computing, and the great possibility of applications that exist in multiple fields such as economics and financial services, chemistry, medicine and health, logistics and supply chain, energy and agriculture. And, of course, its impact on cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence.

It also emphasizes the necessary involvement of everyone to make this technology a success: companies and professionals, identifying projects that can benefit from this technology; scientists, trying to solve outstanding issues; governments supporting research and transfer; and academics, considering quantum computing in curricula and syllabi.
