Our colleague Ismael Caballero has participated in the Leadership in Big Data, Business Analytics & AI program at the Instituto de Empresa, teaching the course Data Governance/Data Driven Organizations (with UNE specifications).
During the session, a comprehensive overview of data governance fundamentals was provided, engaging in very interesting and constructive debates with attendees about related concepts such as the scope of data strategy as support for organizational and/or business strategies, the different types of data value that data strategies aim to optimize, various strategic data objectives, organizational structures, and the need to define chains of responsibility and accountability to specify the involvement of each role, data policies, and data risks.
In the second part, specifications related to data were introduced, explaining the data governance processes (UNE 0077), data management processes (UNE 0078), and data quality management processes (UNE 0079). It was also discussed how to assess the organizational maturity level using the Alarcos Data Maturity Model as described in UNE 0080. Finally, aspects of data quality for data products were presented as described in UNE 0081.
