    • The Alarcos Group is participating in the institutional presentation of the book "Fundamentals of Data Science with R"

    On April 24th, the event "Open Science Meeting at UCLM: Data Science with R for Society, Academia, and Industry" was held at the Higher School of Computer Science (ESI) in Ciudad Real.

    As part of the event, the book Fundamentals of Data Science with R, was presented. Our colleagues from the Alarcos Group, Ricardo Pérez, Fernando Gualo, and Ismael Caballero contributed as authors to chapters 5, 6, and 7, which discuss aspects of data engineering, governance, management, and data quality management. The book, published by McGraw-Hill, is also publicly accessible as a contribution to open science. All chapters along with the R source code used in the examples can be found on the GitHub repository https://cdr-book.github.io/index.html.

    The final part of the event included a round table where the importance of data science and the opening of science in the evolution of Society, Academia, and Industry were debated, with very representative individuals from these three communities. Our colleague Ismael Caballero was one of the two moderators of this panel.
