On 18 October, our colleague Mario Piattini was invited to give a master class on the challenges of software and data quality at the Dipartimento di Informatica of the Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro.
This presentation covered different topics: from the social and economic consequences of the lack of software and data quality, to the advantages offered by models such as those based on the ISO/IEC 25000 and SO/IEC 33000 standards for assessing and improving the quality of both products and software and data processes. The experiences of the two Alarcos Group spinoffs, AQCLab and DQTeam., were also discussed.
Regarding hot topics, the need to address sustainability aspects within software development was discussed, as well as the importance of carrying out a true quantum software engineering to ensure its quality, reflecting the experience that aQuantum (a joint unit between Alhambra IT and UCLM) has accumulated in this area.
