    • Data Governance and Data Quality Management at the University of Valladolid

    Our colleague Ismael Caballero gave a class on 10 October entitled "Data Governance and Data Quality Management" in the subject "Software Quality: certification and quality audits of processes, systems, data and services" coordinated by Professor Yania Crespo of the Master's Degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Valladolid.

    During the class, Ismael highlighted the role of data for organisations to be data-driven, explaining to the students the most important principles and characteristics of data governance and data quality management and how international ISO standards can help in this task. Data governance was contextualised as an organisational function to extract the maximum value from data as business assets and IT assets. Some reference frameworks were explained, going deeper into the MAMD model and some case studies were presented that helped attendees to better understand the concepts.
