    • Study of the socio-demographic situation of the municipalities belonging to the Association for the Development of Campo de Calatrava.

    Recently our colleague Francisco Ruiz, together with Professor Ángel Raul Ruiz of Geography UCLM Department, have delivered the results of the "Study of the Socio-demographic Situation of the Municipalities belonging to the Association for the Development of Campo de Calatrava. Towards the Calatravian Territorial Planning". The work, carried out between September 2022 and March 2023, has allowed an interpretation and diagnosis of the demographic and socioeconomic situation of 15 municipalities in the Campo de Calatrava shire. Using business intelligence technology and data science and data engineering techniques, Francisco Ruiz analyzed demographic data (more than 60 variables) and socioeconomic data (more than 50 variables). Relevant contributions of the study have been the creation of an integrated indicator to determine the general situation of each municipality based on a selection of twenty variables. Data on daily commuting and permanent migration have also been analyzed to identify relationships of dependence or hierarchy between municipalities. The study will be presented to the public in the coming days.
