    • ChatGPT: The Phantom Menace
    or A New Hope

    Last Wednesday, December 13, our colleague Manuel Serrano gave a talk at the School of Computer Science of the UCLM. Titled "ChatGPT: The Phantom Menace or A New Hope," the lecture delved into the heart of the technology of Large Language Models (LLM), exploring its benefits and challenges.

    The talk addressed how the emergence of this innovative technology is creating problems in university education, affecting both teachers and students, and extending its impact to IT professionals and society at large. Manuel Serrano examined the new educational scenario and proposed alternatives for the future of university education, emphasizing the importance of revising the contents of each subject.





    Additionally, the conference brought to the table emerging ethical issues associated with this technology, sparking a debate on the best path forward for the future of Generative Artificial Intelligence. It also presented various possible futures, encouraging attendees to reflect on the multiple directions these technologies could take.

    The talk was disruptive and raised multiple questions among the audience, who nearly filled the auditorium of the School. This event not only informed but also inspired, opening a crucial dialogue on the future of technology and education.
