Last October 18th, during SEMIC 2023, our colleague Ismael Caballero participated in track 2 "Data quality in Generative and General Purpose AI". The track was part of the SEMIC 2023 conference, held this year in Madrid, and focused on "Interoperable Europe in the Age of AI". SEMIC 2023 was organized by the European Commission in collaboration with the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

El track, moderado por Ana Rosa Guzmán, S.G. de Planificación y Gobernanza de la Administración Digital, estuvo compuesta por Sebastian Hallensleben, Chair del CEN-CENELEC JTC21, Antonio García, Subdirector del Estrategia del Dato del Ayuntamiento de Madrid, Emilia Tantar, Chief Data and AI Officer de Black Swan LUX, José Luis Calvo, AI Director de Divergir, Rosa Elvira Lillo, Catedrática en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid y directora del UC3M-Santander Big Data Institute, e Ismael Caballero, Profesor Titular de la UCLM y Socio-Director en DQTeam.

During the track, the participants, after the corresponding pre-introduction by the moderator, made a brief introduction on various related and complementary views on the need for data quality in the field of Generative AI. Ismael talked about the need to have specific standards for measuring and evaluating the quality of data products that are used as a basis for training AI algorithms, the need to support processes related to data quality management, and how the UNE 0079 and UNE 0081 specifications could help in this regard. At the end of the presentations, the moderator Ana Rosa Guzman sequenced different questions, which led to very interesting debates in which both the speakers and the audience were involved.
