    Professors Andrea Delgado and Daniel Calegari from Universidad de la República (Uruguay) have presented the paper "Adding the sustainability dimension in process mining discovery algorithms evaluation", at the BPM Forum, within the international BPM (Business Process Management) conference, held in Utrecht from September 11 to 15, 2023. This work involves our colleagues Alberto Gordillo, María Ángeles Moraga and Félix García, as well as Lionel Peña from the University of the Republic.

    The aim of this paper is to raise awareness of the need to consider energy efficiency as a key indicator to support decision making on process discovery problems, given the large computational load that process mining algorithms used for this purpose may require. To this end, a well-known benchmark for the evaluation of automated process discovery methods is extended and an empirical study of their energy efficiency evaluation is presented.
