Our colleague Marcela Genero Bocco has participated as Co-chair, alongside Marcos Kalinowski (PUC-Rio de Janeiro), in the annual meeting of ISERN, held on October 23rd and 24th in New Orleans. This event took place within the International Week of Empirical Software Engineering (ESEIW 2023).
The ISERN community promotes and encourages the adoption and use of robust empirical methods in software engineering research and practice. Annually, it organizes a meeting to discuss various topics of interest related to empirical software engineering.
In this edition, there was an intense program with working sessions that led to reflections on different aspects of empirical methods, such as threats to validity, the use of guidelines, human factors in requirements engineering, how to the sampling to obtain a representative population, among others. These sessions, in some way, will contribute to the evolution and improvement of software engineering and empirical software engineering and its application, within the rapidly changing technological context we are experiencing.
