Our colleague Ismael Caballero participated as a speaker on October 25 at the DMS (Data Management Summit - Public Administrations) event held in Bilbao.
The main objective of the talk was to present the UNE specifications related to data governance, management and quality (UNE 0077, UNE 0078, UNE 0079, UNE 0080, and UNE 0081) to the attendees, most of whom were representatives of different Public Administration institutions.
During his presentation, Ismael highlighted the fundamentals of the UNE specifications (need for data strategy, the creation of a data governance system, separation of data governance and management roles, process approach, composition of data governance programs); he explained the structure of the processes contained in UNE 0077, UNE 0078, and UNE 0079 supported by an example process as well as the Alarcos Data Maturity Model presented as an example of a maturity model in UNE 0080; He described the characteristics of data quality and its relationship with the measurable properties presented in UNE 0081; he spoke of the possibility of certifying compliance with the standards and ended with some conclusions on the experience being gained from the implementation of the standards.
