Last October, colleagues Francisco Ruiz and Marcela Genero taught an online course on Data Modelling and Processing with Power BI, as part of the official training programme of the staff's UCLM.
The course was attended by 22 teachers and researchers from the four campus of the UCLM. In a practical way they have learned to express information needs in the form of measures and indicators, to design a multidimensional data model suitable for calculating and analysing these needs, and to load data from sources and transform them into Power BI in such a way that data are optimally prepared for subsequent analysis and visualisation (contents of a second course). Microsoft Power BI has been a world leader for more than 5 years (2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms).
