This project in coordination between UDC -coordinator- and UCLM, aims to create PLAGEMIS (PLAtform for the GEneration of Mobility Information Systems); through variability management techniques the platform will facilitate the automated generation of Mobility Information Systems (MIS) including energy efficiency. The systems will be based on GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology, on Compact Data Structures (CDS) and they will use an advanced data model of our own design and advanced algorithms to represent and exploit the large and heterogeneous data set relevant for the analysis of mobility in urban and rural environments. The data to be used range from mapping to demographics and population dispersion, to the location of services, the capacity of transport infrastructures or the supply of public transport. The MIS must be able to explore and exploit these data by performing data crosswalks and analyses with aggregations and disaggregations of spatio-temporal data such as trajectories or the hourly evolution of traffic. The MIS generated will be based on GIS technology and disruptive technologies such as CDS that store data in a compressed and autoindexed way, achieving greater efficiency in Big Data processing. The MIS will be key tools for the digital transformation of administrations and companies related to mobility management, facilitating the management and planning of infrastructures and services, to promote public transport and healthy habits (walking, cycling, etc.) in cities and to fight against what is known as "the empty Spain". Thus, MIS will be inclusive and sustainable by facilitating the analysis of mobility demand disaggregated by gender and the analysis of relevant data for inclusion (parking for the disabled, adapted buses, ramps and guides for the blind on sidewalks). They will also be essential tools to support land use planning and the fight against climate change by facilitating a good analysis of mobility needs. The project will address the research necessary for the design and development of the data model and MIS system architecture, the CDS and algorithms necessary for the exploitation of mobility data. Two prototype MIS applications will be implemented from which we will create PLAGEMIS. In addition, we will follow the principle of "energetically efficient by design" for which we will create a technological framework to evaluate the real energy consumption of the various components of GIS in general and MIS in particular. Thanks to this framework we will measure and optimize throughout the project the energy efficiency of the components and algorithms for storage, management, retrieval and use of mobility data. The UCLM node is a consolidated team with 5 professors, 4 of them full professors of Computer Languages and Systems and a full university professor in the same area. The team has extensive experience in software energy efficiency (EE) issues as well as in aspects of demographic data analysis and software engineering (SE), which makes it an ideal team for the tasks that have been assigned in the project. Thus, they will lead WP1, aligned with their expertise in EE measurement and will collaborate in WP3, 4 and 5, with their knowledge in EE, SE and demographic data analysis.
